Flav-R-Bites

Flav-R-Bites are a flavored and/or colored cylindrical or custom ground product produced with patented technology to add the desired flavor, texture, and color to a variety of food product applications. Flav-R-Bites are generally custom formulated and produced to fit the specific needs of the individual customer.

Size and Shape

Generally, a cylindrical shaped product. The following size ranges per product size designations are typical. However, due to varying product formulations and processing variables, they may differ. A full range of custom lengths, sizes and granulations is available.

Flav-R-Bites® — Application Guidelines
BAGELS - Using Size #4 or #6
  • Mix dough until the gluten is fully developed.
  • Add Flav-R-Bites at level of 8% to 10% of flour weight (“Baker’s Percentage”).
  • Mix for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes until Flav-R-Bites are evenly distributed.
  • BREADS - Using Size #4
  • Add Flav-R-Bites at level of 12% to 15% of flour weight (“Baker’s Percentage”).
  • Add Flav-R-Bites after complete dough development.
  • Mix for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes on low speed. This should be done before the dividing step.
  • FROZEN DOUGH PRODUCTS - Using Size #4
  • Add Flav-R-Bites at level of 12% to 15% of flour weight (“Baker’s Percentage”).
  • Add Flav-R-Bites during last 2 minutes of dough mix.
  • Process in normal system after complete incorporation of Flav-R-Bites.
  • ENGLISH MUFFINS - Using Size #4 or #6
  • Add Flav-R-Bites at level of 8% to 10% of flour weight (“Baker’s Percentage”).
  • Add Flav-R-Bites during last 2 minutes of mix.
  • COOKIES - Using Size #6
  • Add Flav-R-Bites at level of 6% to 8% of flour weight (“Baker’s Percentage”).
  • Add Flav-R-Bites after batter has mixed completely.
  • Mix for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes on low speed until Flav-R-Bites are evenly distributed.
  • CAKES* - Using Size #4 or #6
  • After batter is completely mixed, add Flav-R-Bites at a level of 8% to 12% of total weight.
  • Mix on low for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes to incorporate.
  • *Percentages and/or ingredients (except Flav-R-Bites) may vary according to brand of mix used.
    DONUTS - Using Size #6
  • Add Flav-R-Bites at level of 5% to 10% of flour weight (“Baker’s Percentage”).
  • Mix for 1 minute on low speed; then 2 to 3 minutes on second speed.
  • ICE CREAM - Using Size #6 or #8
  • Add Flav-R-Bites at level of 12% to 15% according to flavor and appearance level desired.
  • Mixing Instructions
  • For heavy cream mixes, add Flav-R-Bites at the beginning of the mix, after sugar is incorporated.
  • For Ice Milk or thin mixes, add Flav-R-Bites during the last 2 minutes of mix.
  • MUFFINS - Using Size #4 or #6
  • Dry blend muffin mix and Flav-R-Bites 1 minute on low speed.
  • Add Flav-R-Bites at level of 8% to 10% of flour weight (“Baker’s Percentage”).
  • Add water and mix 2 to 3 minutes on low speed.
  • PANCAKES & WAFFLES - Using Size #6 or #8
  • Add Flav-R-Bites at level of 10% of flour weight (“Baker’s Percentage”).
  • Add Flav-R-Bites at the beginning of mixing process.
  • Complete mixing according to standard mixing practices.

    Multi-wall, poly lined 50 lb. (22.68kg) bags, palletized and stretch-wrapped. Note: 1,800 lb to 2,000 lb. super sacks available (actual weight dependent upon specific product density).
